The Marketing & Communications Intern works under the supervision of the Director of Development and Communications and serves supports the execution of the communications work plan, assisting with the publication of marketing and fundraising materials for the department. Through this experience, the intern will learn how strong communication is critical for all aspects of organizational function including advocacy, programming, fundraising, and more. The intern will have excellent copyediting skills, an eye for design, and will be a talented writer. Additionally, the intern will work closely with the Development and Database Manager to support communications and planning to ensure the success of all New Moms campaigns. Stipend of $3,750 for three 8 hours days/week over the course of the internship. This time commitment and stipend amount are negotiable. Students with strong written and communication skills, and who have an interest in non-profit administration, are ideal candidates.
To provide a supervised learning experience through a wide range of social work services with multi-level client systems. To integrate and apply the knowledge, values, and skills to the practice setting. This workforce development intern will provide coaching to young moms in our 16-week job training program, as well as support to the classroom and paid work experience portion of the program at our Social Enterprise. This role is located at both New Moms (Austin) and Bright Endeavors (West Garfield Park).
This 2nd-year master’s administrative social work intern will report directly to the Chief Program Officer, work closely with the Director of Learning and Innovation as a task supervisor, and engage with the Executive Leadership Team as needed for work projects. This intern will have the opportunity to play a significant role in supporting the implementation of New Moms 3-year strategic priorities including refining and sharing our unique model, deepening the development of our program supports including a new academic model and the exploration of unconditional cash transfers, and help in the execution of our new policy and advocacy strategy. This intern will champion all New Moms values including our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, in both strategic planning and performance. They will be located in our main office in the Austin neighborhood and spend some time in the community. This position has a stipend of $2,500 for the two 8 hours days/week over the course of the internship. The funding comes from a restricted funding source designated specifically to support interns who are people of color. Others are encouraged to apply, but would not be eligible for the stipend if they do not meet the criteria.
The Spiritual Formation Fellow assists the Director of Spiritual Formation in implementing programs in this field for both staff and young moms. The Fellow will learn about and gain direct experience in spiritual formation ministry in the context of social service/ social enterprise work across three locations: Austin, Garfield Park, and Oak Park. Monthly stipend: $1,000.00. Women of color are strongly encouraged to apply.
