New Moms partners with pregnant and parenting young women living in the community through the acclaimed Home Visiting model, Parents as Teachers. Together with their coaches, moms construct the foundations for well-being through their child’s fifth birthday: building supportive relationships, unlocking access to resources that enhance their family’s opportunity, and developing core life skills that benefit the family and community in the long term.
New Moms enhances our Home Visiting services by applying a Family-Centered Coaching lens that puts moms in the driver’s seat with the skills, tools, and strengths to progress towards their goals.
Additionally, New Moms is engaged in two promising pilots that build the body of evidence for enhancements to Home Visiting models: a program serving justice-involved young mothers in partnership with the Cook County Sheriff’s office and The Ounce, and the Home Visiting for Homeless Families Demonstration Project in partnership with The Ounce.
