Site-based Permanent Supportive Housing

New Moms’ Western Suburban offices are co-located with our permanent supportive housing in Oak Park, a building developed and opened in 2019.

The building includes staff offices, educational meeting spaces, and the “Clare Place” residential wing of 18 brand-new, fully-furnished one and two-bedroom apartments for families.

New Moms’ Clare Place apartments are “permanent supportive housing:” families can live there as long as they choose. As with New Moms’ transitional housing in Chicago, Clare Place residents can also choose to engage with a Family Coach and set and progress towards goals for their own and their families’ well-being, health, education, employment, finances, and more.

We are grateful for the generous contribution from the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters and named the building Clare Place in honor of St. Clare of Assisi, who devoted her life to the Franciscan values of respect, compassion, service, and integrity.
