Why I Joined…

“I have been a New Moms Board Member since 2022. After moving to the Chicago area with my family, including our 4-month-old son and 5-year-old daughter, I knew I wanted to be involved in an organization in Chicago that helps new mothers lacking the support and opportunities I am so lucky to have; New Moms was the perfect organization for me to help. Then, as I volunteered in the New Moms job training program and saw the women’s potential unleashed, I was inspired to become even more involved. New Moms provides its moms with all the resources and training they need to sustain their families for the long term. I am so excited to be joining the Board this year to further the New Moms mission.”

Fun Fact…

Christy’s favorite children’s book is Oh, the Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss. “I am still inspired by this book, as I always want to be taking on exciting challenges, learning new things, and keeping an open mind!”
