Why I Joined…

I am at my best when immersed in work that fuels my passion and curiosity. My sister became a young mother while living on the Westside of Chicago—a life-changing experience that brought immense challenges during her teenage years. Although our family supported her, she often felt isolated, lacking opportunities to connect with others facing similar circumstances. This is why serving on the New Moms’ Board is deeply meaningful to me. Yes, I bring professional expertise and knowledge to help the organization achieve its goals, but more importantly, I carry a personal connection to its mission. Through my sister’s journey, I gained a unique perspective on the struggles and resilience of young mothers.

I see the profound value in this work. By sharing my skills and gifts with the Board of Directors, I hope to help change even one person’s life for the better. It is an honor to align my role with my soul—giving my time, talent, and treasure to support this incredible organization.

Fun Fact: I participated as a seat filler at the American Music Awards several years ago. Favorite quote: “Change is inevitable, and we must always evolve to keep humanity at the forefront of our purpose.”…
