Jasmine’s story

In June 2013 I heard about New Moms from a friend. I became a mom at the age of 16. I didn’t know much about the struggles I was going to face, but I made a promise to myself and my 3-year-old son that I would try, no matter what. I joined New Moms’ Workforce Development program and completed 5 weeks of training.

At Bright Endeavors (the social enterprise of New Moms) I gained on-the-job experience and saw potential in myself that I had never seen before – a career felt possible! I went back to school and moved into my first apartment. I was fulfilling my promise. I got my driver’s license and purchased my first vehicle. By the end of 2013 I felt hopeful about my future.

New Moms offered me a permanent job as a Production Team Lead at Bright Endeavors, where I am a leader for other young moms. I am now married, and this year we welcomed another child into our family. I am on a mission to keep striving to exceed expectations! Because of New Moms I have achieved goals that take some people a lifetime to conquer.
