Highly trained home visitors and community-based doulas work with our participants during pregnancy and the critical early years of their children’s life.
Extensive research demonstrated early learning readiness is a key to future success. When young parents have come from abusive, neglectful homes, healthy pregnancies and parenting skills have not been modeled. The Bright Beginnings team is focused on providing comprehensive services, screenings and coaching that enables adolescent parents (aged 13 to 19 at time of enrollment) to become their children’s first and best teachers.
Our prenatal support groups provide participants a supportive and encouraging environment to prepare for the birth of their baby and becoming a mother. Our ongoing parent support groups are an extension of that supportive environment where participants can continue to share their struggles and victories with other young moms and receive other coaching and support from our highly trained staff.
In any given year, our trained home visitors provide approximately 1,300 hours of home-based parenting instruction, case management, and child development services.
